Cyprus Weather

Cyprus has one of the warmest climates and warmest winters in the Mediterranean. Generally, the warm temperature season lasts about eight months. Beginning in April and ending in November, average temperatures are 21–23 °C during the day and 11–13 °C at night.

During July and August temperatures are hotter when average maximum coastal temperatures rise to around 33 °C during the day and around 23 °C at night. In the remaining four months of the year, the temperatures tend to remain mild, while sometimes exceed 20 °C during the day.

Cyprus receives an average of 2,700 to 3,500 hours of sunshine per year. Even in winter the daily average is 5–6 hours per day, half of the 12–13 hours experienced at the height of summer. This is about double that of cities in the northern half of Europe; for comparison, London has 1,461 hours. Rainfall is nearly entirely confined to the winter months.
